Xiangzhou district of Zhuhai in south China’s Guangdong province has unveiled the construction plan for an optical communication industrial park. It aims to seize strategic opportunities from global AI computing iteration and industry upgrading, while inviting optical communication enterprises and professionals worldwide to get settled in the area.

Boasting a solid industrial foundation, Xiangzhou hosts a provincial-level specialized cluster of optoelectronic intelligent manufacturing enterprises, including four provincial-level manufacturing single-product champions and eight national specialized and innovative “little giant” enterprises.

The plan maps out the full industrial chain with three major areas. The core components focuses on high-speed optical modules, optical interconnection, optical chips and optical devices. The supporting sector covers raw materials, high-end components and specialized equipment. And the emerging application includes optical interconnection for intelligent connected vehicles, lidar and other optical detection equipment.

The plan also provides a full-cycle support system, covering the flexible supply of customized factory premises, guidance and cultivation from leading enterprises, investment and financing services, innovation platform, talent guarantees, industrial trend forecasting and professional supporting services.
