The Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Industrial Design Park was launched on July 16 at the Chuanggang Center in Xiangzhou district, Zhuhai.

Co-hosted by the Xiangzhou District Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry and Information Technology and Zhuhai Zhengfang Group, the park will provide support for the high-quality upgrading of manufacturing on the western Pearl River Estuary.

With industrial design as its core focus, the park operates under a “government-guided, state-owned enterprise-operated” model with three functional zones: industrial incubation, industrial development, and cultural and creative integration.

It aims to gather over 80 design market entities, serve more than 200 local manufacturers a year, build three specialized public service platforms, and generate over 100 million yuan($14.80 million) in annual industrial design revenue.

Hu Qizhi, president of the Guangdong Industrial Design Association, noted that the park will improve industrial design cooperation across the Pearl River Delta, enable resource sharing, and empower the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing sector through design innovation.

University-enterprise cooperation agreements were signed at the launch event for in-depth collaboration in talent training, internship and practical training, and the commercialization of innovative achievements.

Meanwhile, the park has been granted a total of 10 billion yuan in special credit lines from five banks, to help alleviate financing bottlenecks for design enterprises.
