Zhuhai’s Xiangzhou district signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and its smart mobility arm Cao Cao Mobility (Hangzhou Youxing Technology) on Aug 1 to launch an integrated ground and low-altitude air smart mobility demonstration project.
Liu Li, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Xiangzhou District Committee, and Zhang Huiyang, head of Xiangzhou District People’s Government, met with Geely and Cao Cao Mobility executives and witnessed the signing.
Set to be the first zero-carbon smart mobility benchmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, this project integrates vehicles, photovoltaic power, energy storage, power grid and low-altitude flight. It aims to develop application scenarios for urban commuting, coastal sightseeing and shuttles in scenic areas, with the goal of building a coordinated three-dimensional mobility ecosystem that combines ground and low-altitude transportation.
Cao Cao Mobility, with 11 years of experience in shared mobility and autonomous driving operations, is set to deploy its first batch of L4 self-driving test vehicles on designated roads in Xiangzhou. The company will also build an intelligent operation hub and reserve supporting space for low-altitude aircraft takeoff and landing.
Xiangzhou aims to build the project into a model for smart transportation innovation within the GBA, driving Zhuhai’s modernization through the high-quality development of emerging industries.
