A precision diagnosis and treatment equipment cluster, submitted by Xiangzhou district and Zhuhai Hi-tech Industry Development Zone, has been included in the 2026 list of Guangdong Provincial Characteristic Industrial Clusters for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) on June 23, becoming the fifth provincial-level cluster in Xiangzhou.

As a core segment of Xiangzhou’s pillar biomedicine and health industry, the cluster focuses on four key areas: precision diagnosis, advanced therapeutic devices, minimally invasive instruments, and life science equipment, boasting domestically advanced capabilities in subsectors such as high-end in vitro diagnostic reagents and minimally invasive treatment solutions.

Home to 35 key enterprises, the cluster recorded a total output value of 5.44 billion yuan ($806 million) in 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 10.03 percent over the past three years. It has formed a complete industrial chain spanning R&D, core components, assembly, testing and sales.

Local authorities have rolled out multidimensional support for the cluster’s high-quality development, including co-constructing innovation platforms, improving industrial support services and facilitating market expansion. To date, all six pillar industries in Xiangzhou have obtained official accreditation at the provincial-level or above.
