Zhuhai People's Hospital in Xiangzhou district, Guangdong province, recently held its 2026 series of medical quality improvement series events and inaugurated the main comprehensive building (Phase I) of its south campus on Aug 6.

With an area of approximately 4,500 square meters, the building comprises two basement floors and twenty-nine ground floors, with a total construction area of 79,000-sq-m and a height of 133.87 m.

It integrates outpatient services, inpatient care, medical technology and scientific research. Twenty-four departments including breast surgery, endocrinology and medical cosmetology have been set up in its specialized outpatient department on floors three to six, with inpatient wards arranged on the middle and upper floors.

Constructed in line with green energy-saving building standards, the facility features elderly-friendly ward designs, smart medical logistics transmission systems, smart wards and a telemedicine platform to further improve service efficiency and patient experiences.

It will also support medical education and research innovation through partnerships with Beijing Institute of Technology and Macao University of Science and Technology, aiming to foster medical talent and advance healthcare cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao.

The new complex will deliver more comfortable and convenient one-stop healthcare services for local residents, marking steady progress in the development of Zhuhai's medical service capabilities.
