The 4th Xiangshan Feast of City God (literally "God of the Moat and the City Walls"or "God of the Boundary"), a district-level intangible cultural heritage (ICH) event in Xiangzhou, kicked off in Shanchang community, Cuixiang subdistrict, Zhuhai, Guangdong province, on Sept 5, showcasing the preservation and innovation of Xiangshan's millennium-old culture and deepening people-to-people exchanges among Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macao.
Zhang Huiyang, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiangzhou District Committee, Zhuhai Municipality, and chief executive and director of the Management Committee of Zhuhai Free Trade Zone(Zhuhai FTZ)attended the opening ceremony. Representatives from the three regions exchanged ICH-themed tokens, commemorative plaques and calligraphy works. The event also presented the outcomes of a youth training program that cultivates "little narrators" for Xiangshan culture.
Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macao were all part of the former Xiangshan county, whose county seat was located in today's Shanchang village, forming the shared cultural roots of the three places.
The festival includes a folk parade featuring dragon dance, phoenix chicken dance, lantern displays and puppet performances, which stretches for hundreds of meters and distributes blessing bags to residents. It also hosts public welfare fairs and Cantonese opera shows tailored to people of all ages, making traditional culture more accessible and engaging.

After four consecutive years of development, the festival has become a signature cultural brand of Cuixiang subdistrict. Local authorities will continue using ICH to carry forward Xiangshan culture and support cultural prosperity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
