For good reason, green has long been regarded as the signature color of the Xiangzhou district of South China's Zhuhai city - with the region achieving great results in balancing business and nature.

Now, the organizers of an event called the Green Beauty of Xiangzhou in My Lens are calling for videos to be sent in by members of the general public, especially Xiangzhou's photographers and video enthusiasts. 

The contents should include elements such as forest scenery, famous ancient trees, urban greenways, parks, wetland landscapes and water system greening. The first prize winner will receive a pre-tax cash prize of 5,000 yuan ($685).

The deadline for participants to submit their works is Oct 8.
