Guangdong province recently released a list of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in the first half of 2023, with 192 of them based in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou district.

As of now, the total number of innovative SMEs in Xiangzhou has reached 498, maintaining its lead in the city in total innovative SME numbers. 

Innovative SMEs refer to SMEs with sound innovation mechanisms and technological innovation capabilities at their core. They generate excess profit by utilizing their comprehensive and sustained innovation capabilities in areas such as technology, branding, systems, management, and culture.

To be selected for this list, Guangdong focused on three key indicators: innovation capacity, growth potential, and specialization. The selected SMEs must also have significant influence in their respective industries.

The rapid growth in the number of local innovative SMEs reflects the economic vitality of Xiangzhou district. In recent years, Xiangzhou has continuously enhanced the innovation capacity and specialization level of its SMEs by promoting their high-quality development. It also implemented special actions to help cultivate high-quality SMEs.

Xiangzhou has introduced various policies to support the real economy, technological innovation, and talent cultivation, aiming to create a batch of SMEs with sustainable innovation power and competitiveness.

The district created and implemented a cultivation mechanism for specialized, elaborative, characteristic, and emerging "little giant" SMEs. It has also conducted targeted guidance and on-site visits to ensure that enterprises understand and utilize the district's various preferential policies.
