Zhuhai's Xiangzhou district recently held a high-quality development conference to outline its ambitious plans for 2024.

The district aims to achieve a 6 percent growth in GDP and a 9 percent increase in industrial added value above the designated size and is expected to establish research facilities and support collaborations between businesses and universities, according to Li Weihui, Party secretary of Xiangzhou.

Furthermore, Xiangzhou is set to implement AI technologies in various sectors, providing AI assistant services to 10,000 professionals in fields including research, healthcare, education, and culture. The district also plans to allocate at least 20 percent of its land revenue to establish a fund for technological innovation, aiming to launch two to three influential products in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Xiangzhou is poised to also focus on developing live-streaming e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce to stimulate economic circulation, targeting a 10 percent year-on-year increase in sales for wholesale and retail industries. Additionally, the district is set to prioritize improving its education system, aiming to create 20,000 new education opportunities while supporting neighboring districts in meeting their educational needs.
