The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is set to make a stop in Zhuhai. With 11 teams and over 700 sailors from 50 countries and regions participating, the race will cover 14 global stops over 11 months. This year's event will bring new vitality and charm to Zhuhai.

Zhuhai has become a partner of the race for the 2019-24 seasons. The race yachts are scheduled to dock at Jiuzhou Port, Xiangzhou district, from March 6 to 12, where various activities will take place, including a welcome ceremony, a sailing culture-sharing session, and a charity cycling event.

Originating in the United Kingdom, the race consists of eight stages. After the 11-month competition, the team with the highest points will win the award. This event is the world's most influential sailing event and the largest global sailing race for amateurs.

Founded by Robin Knox-Johnston, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race aims to involve more people with significant potential in emerging markets. Held biennially, the race sees global amateur sailors self-fund their participation, undergo pre-race training, and sail the world-renowned cities or ports under professional skippers' guidance.
