Xiangzhou district is promoting a comprehensive land consolidation project, with the modern agricultural service center in Nanping town and the surrounding agricultural land improvement project being important sub-projects.
The project is situated on the coast of the South China Sea, on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary. It is conveniently located 19 kilometers from the Macao checkpoint and 15 km from the Hengqin checkpoint.
Covering a total area of approximately 59.18 hectares, with a total investment of around 217 million yuan ($30 million), the project aims to become a "vegetable basket" base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and an agri-tourism demonstration ecological park.
The project will promote agri-tourism integration projects focusing on agricultural sightseeing, leisure, vacationing, health preservation, education, and more.
It will also enhance the district's service capacity, with the industrial integration of basic agricultural industries with agri-tourism services being one of its key features.
Since the project's inception, the environmental quality within the project area has continuously improved, attracting migratory birds such as black-winged stilts, avocets, and egrets.
