On Sept 9, a cross-border truck loaded with e-commerce goods departed from the Zhuhai International Postal Operations Center, marking the commencement of the cross-border e-commerce retail export business.

Located at 1054 Renmin West Road, Xiangzhou district, the Zhuhai International Postal Operations Center spans an area of 18,700 square meters. The center supports customs supervision modes for mail, express delivery, and cross-border e-commerce, boasting eight customs inspection lines and processing up to 150,000 mail and express items daily. Additionally, it offers customs clearance and transportation services for cross-border e-commerce exports.

The launch of the cross-border e-commerce retail export business at the Zhuhai International Postal Operations Center is a significant initiative in response to the national "Belt and Road" initiative and the development strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In July 2023, the Xiangzhou district government entered into a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Post Group's Zhuhai Branch. The agreement aims to provide policy support and ensure resource allocation for the successful implementation of the project.

With the commencement of operations, the center aims to enhance the efficiency of cross-border enterprises by streamlining customs clearance processes. The annual customs clearance volume is expected to exceed 5 million items, with an annual throughput of over 2,000 metric tons of inbound and outbound postal parcels.
