Hengqin Port – located on Hengqin island of Zhuhai – is growing ever bigger and its agglomeration effect is drawing the interest of more and more investors from all over the country.

The Hengqin Port Travel Inspection Hall can accommodate an annual clearance volume of up to 80 million people, providing great convenience for personnel exchanges between Qin'ao and other places.

The comprehensive transportation hub area is a vital node connecting Zhuhai, Macao, and surrounding cities. On the Zhuhai side, Hengqin Port has an integrated long-distance bus station, urban bus hub and light rail station – and will connect with the largest underground station under construction in China, Hengqin Station. On the Macao side, the Macao light rail will connect with Hengqin Port in the future.

In recent years, leading internet companies such as Vipshop, TikTok, Baidu, Xiaohongshu, Inke and Bilibili have established a presence in Hengqin.

Additionally, renowned companies like Bunge from the USA, Altana from Germany, Airbus Helicopters China, Wanda, YTO Express and LONGi Green Energy have also set up operations in Hengqin.

In the first three quarters of 2024, Hengqin posted a GDP of 37.35 billion yuan ($5.15 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent, with over 58,000 business entities now operating in the area – highlighting the growing industrial agglomeration effect.
