The announcement was made during the 2024 Fourth Quarter Major Projects Signing Ceremony held in Zhuhai on Nov 28. The event saw the signing of agreements for nine key projects, with a total investment of 2.38 billion yuan ($326.37 million).

The new operations center will focus on space video operations and will include a state-of-the-art in-person experience center. This facility is expected to become a new benchmark for in-person experiences, integrating VR experiences and immersive theaters. The project is currently in the planning stages, with an anticipated launch by the end of this year or early next year. The initial phase will employ around 30 people, with a projected operational revenue of 750 million yuan in the next five years.

The establishment of the operations center is expected to strengthen the collaboration between iQIYI and Zhuhai's cultural and tourism sectors, providing users with a novel and immersive experience.
