On Jan 15, the fifth session of the 10th Xiangzhou district congress of the Communist Party of China convened at the district's administrative center, where Xiangzhou's achievements in 2024 were reviewed and its ambitious plans for 2025 were outlined.

In 2024, Xiangzhou reached a milestone as its GDP surpassed 200 billion yuan ($27.4 billion). The district focused on upgrading industrial parks, developing key projects, and attracting investment. Key highlights include an additional two national-level and nine provincial-level manufacturing individual champions and a significant increase in the district's tourism revenue.

The district’s three-year action plan to expand school capacity achieved remarkable results, with 2.93 billion yuan invested, 73 construction projects launched, and 50,000 new school enrollment slots added.

The district also actively promoted ecological development, completing the annual construction tasks for the Xiangshan Lake Park. A total of 25,000 people participated in volunteer tree planting, raising nearly 10 million yuan in social funds.

For 2025, Xiangzhou is launching 10 major improvement initiatives, aiming to increase residents' life satisfaction while showcasing the district's unique charm. These initiatives include improving primary-level governance, enhancing industrial quality, and advancing green projects.

Xiangzhou is expected to conclude the 14th Five-Year Plan and lay a solid foundation for the 15th, contributing to Zhuhai's goal of 1-trillion-yuan GDP.
