During the 2025 Qingming Festival holiday, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai Port set a new single-day record for cross-border vehicle traffic. On April 4 alone, 23,500 vehicles cleared customs at the port, marking a 32.8 percent year-on-year surge, according to Zhuhai Port Customs. Inbound traffic reached a historic high of 13,900 vehicles, soaring 59.8 percent compared to 2024.
To ensure smooth operations, customs authorities deployed a comprehensive peak-period clearance plan, leveraging advanced monitoring systems and real-time data coordination, and collaborated with their Hong Kong and Macao counterparts to optimize resource allocation. Public advisories promoting staggered travel times further eased congestion, maintaining efficient clearance throughout the holiday period.
The Qingming Festival holiday sparked a tourism surge in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou district, with major attractions drawing 695,000 visitors—an impressive 36.9 percent year-on-year increase.
The iconic Lover's Road Scenic Area led the way, welcoming 603,000 visitors, representing a 38.6 percent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the Yuanmingyuan New Park also demonstrated substantial growth, drawing 46,000 visitors—a 19.1 percent year-on-year increase.
