Xiangzhou, primary urban area of Zhuhai and the only district connected land-wise to Hong Kong and Macao, utilizes its geographic and ecological strengths to spearhead cultural tourism. In 2024, it hosted more than 25.7 million visitors, producing 29.6 billion yuan ($4.15 billion) in tourism income, with tourists from Hong Kong and Macao making up 12 percent.

Policies such as "Hong Kong-Macao vehicles northbound" and "Fly via Zhuhai to Hong Kong" have propelled growth. Together with Xiangzhou's strategic position, these initiatives have increased its attractiveness as a cross-border travel hub, bolstering its significance in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area tourism network.
