On September 21, 2025, Huafa MSCE held a Mid-autumn festival celebration event: fish lantern making. Nearly 20 Chinese and Foreign friends from France, Germany, the USA, Italy and Macao China gathered at Huafa MSCE to enjoy the fun of lantern DIY and celebrate the festival together.
At the start of the event, the teacher introduced the history and symbolic meaning of the fish lantern, as well as the materials, tools and detailed steps for making it. Chinese and foreign friends sat around the table and followed the teacher's instructions to insert, paste and assemble the pieces of lantern materials, gradually presenting one after another vivid fish-shaped lanterns of various shapes and bright colors. With the lanterns in hands, everyone was beaming with great joy and a sense of accomplishment.

Then, the organizer specially served some moon cakes for Chinese and foreign friends to taste, and Mattia from Italy, one of the participants, also brought some Gelato from his company to share with everyone. The scene was filled with joy and laughter.
Amance from France said: “This was my first time making a fish lantern by myself. It's very interesting. The lantern shines brightly with the switch on. I'm already looking forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival, when we can carry this fish lantern we made ourselves to enjoy the moon and experience the festive atmosphere. It will definitely be a very special experience!”
This event enabled Chinese and foreign friends to experience the fun of lantern DIY, as well as the traditional customs and atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Through the event, the participants were amazed by the charm of traditional Chinese handicrafts and enjoyed warm and unforgettable festive moments. In the future, Huafa MSCE will continue to organize more colorful activities to build a platform for friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign residents.
