Entering the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), Xiangzhou is accelerating its drive to become a modern, competitive, and people-centered urban district through the implementation of its "Top 10 Actions for a Vibrant Xiangzhou."

Over the past year, Xiangzhou has achieved steady and solid development. With GDP surpassing 200 billion yuan ($29 billion) and ranking among China's top districts in terms of comprehensive strength and innovation, the district is developing a modern industrial system supported by optimized spatial planning, the expansion of advanced manufacturing and modern services, and rapid growth in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, optoelectronics, and marine electronic information.

As a key gateway in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Xiangzhou continues to strengthen connectivity and integration. The rising efficiency of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, expanding cross-border cooperation, and deeper collaboration with Hong Kong, Macao, and Hengqin are translating into tangible gains in trade, innovation, and public services.

Xiangzhou is also enhancing urban quality and social well-being. From employment support and elderly care to inclusive education, urban renewal, and park city development, the district is steadily improving livability and public satisfaction.

Looking ahead to 2026, Xiangzhou is targeting economic growth of between 5 and 5.5 percent and will strive for higher outcomes through sustained efforts. With a strong start and sustained momentum throughout the year, the district is positioning itself as an urban frontrunner in high-quality development within Zhuhai and the Greater Bay Area.
