Wanzai tourism pier in Xiangzhou district, Zhuhai, received more than 40,000 visitors during the Mid-Autumn Festival from Sept 25 to 27 and the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, up about 12 percent year on year, as cross-border marine tourism between Zhuhai and Macao continued to boom.

During the holiday, the pier operated approximately 26 sailings each day, with routes connecting Wanzai, Hengqin, and the waters of Macao, all while passing under four bridges. These routes served both daytime sightseeing and nighttime tours. During the day, visitors could admire the impressive scale of the bridges, while at night, they could enjoy views of Macao's skyline across the water.

Fireworks-themed cruises, scheduled to coincide with the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, sold out for every sailing, allowing passengers to enjoy the displays from the sea. The pier also introduced red study tours and Party-building themed cruises, providing multi-stop marine cultural experiences that received praise from visitors across the country.

The strong marine tourism market also boosted consumption in Wanzai and Hengqin. Many visitors chose combined "Macao island tour plus Hengqin leisure tour" packages, and more than half of island tour visitors stayed in Wanzai or Hengqin for one to two days, driving growth in catering, accommodation and transport along the coast.

Xiangzhou district said it will continue to deepen cooperation with Wanzai tourism pier, develop cross-border marine tourism resources and roll out more diverse marine tourism products to promote high-quality integration of Zhuhai and Macao tourism.
